I recently received my master's degree in English Literature, with a minor in Integrated Marketing Communications, from Ithaca College. While at Ithaca, I belonged to Sigma Tau Delta, the English National Honor Society, and I was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, the national interdisciplinary honor society. A magna cum laude graduate, I am pursuing my PhD at Brown University in English Literature, because it has always been my dream to teach at the college level.I am intrigued by the study of language, both its structure and the way it is used to create meaning. I can take a piece of writing, whether it is a poem or a technical manual, and quickly master its style. As a teacher, I encourage students to think for themselves, while helping them through the specifics of punctuation, grammar, and style. I like to keep students interested in the subject matter as they explore all its aspects. My goal is to prepare students for written coursework in addition to helping them become confident in their skills. This leads to success in testing and examinations. I tutor mostly in Literature, Writing, Reading, and Spanish up to level four. I also provide test preparation for SATs and other academic testing.In my spare time, I love music, watching movies, traveling, and all things Spanish.
